The Cancer Psychosocial Service aims to improve outcomes for persons with cancer and their families by providing comprehensive psychosocial support in continuing, short-term, and community settings. The Cancer Psychosocial Service is located at the Canberra Regional Cancer Centre.

The social worker will understand issues related to oncology and the impact of cancer on an individual, their family, and their career. This includes being familiar with the progressions and challenges of determining disease, treating patients and their families, and providing guidance on misery, misfortune, and mourning. They will make commitment to operate in an interprofessional environment. As member of multidisciplinary team, the position’s overall competence is to advance beneficial client outcomes by arranging for excellent supervision, evaluation, and care-arranging assistance.

Job Requirements

Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Current enrollment with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years of experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work
  • Qualification to drive in NSW and ability to go for work purposes.
  • An Innovative, enthusiastic, highly organized individual with brilliant correspondence and care coordination abilities and focused on supporting a Multidisciplinary Group.
  • Experience in complex administrations that affect different offices and partners.
