NEET 2024 is scheduled on May 5, 2024. As of now, NTA has announced only the exam date and the result release date for 2nd week of June 2024. As per latest media reports, NEET 2024 application form is expected to be out on or after January 24, 2024. Like last year, NEET UG application window will remain open for a month. Due to revision of the official website for JEE Main, it is being speculated that NTA may revise NEET 2024 official website from neet.nta.nic.in to neet.nta.ac.in.

NEET 2024 syllabus PDF is also released by NTA on Nov 22, 2023 at nta.ac.in. Note that the new syllabus of NEET 2024 by NTA is the same as the one announced by NMC earlier. Due to changes in the syllabus, many students encountered various doubts requiring clarification. This is the reason why NTA has now published a PDF answering the Frequently Asked Queries regarding NEET syllabus 2024

NEET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for NEET UG 2024 are as follows:

1. Age Limit

  • The candidates should be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2023.
  • There is no upper age limit for appearing in NEET UG.

2. Nationality

  • Indian Citizens
  • Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs)
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)
  • Foreign Nationals

3. Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects.
  • Candidates appearing for the 12th exam can also apply.

4. Minimum Aggregate Marks in Qualifying Exam

  • General category: 50%
  • SC/ST/OBC-NCL: 40%
  • PwD candidates: 45%

5. NEET Qualification Codes

Candidates need to mention any one of the following exam codes based on their academic background:

  • Code 01: Candidates appearing for 12th class exam
  • Code 02: Those who have cleared 12th standard have not taken admission further
  • Code 03: PUC Science Graduate
  • Code 04: 12th class graduate and have completed pre-medical/pre-professional exam
  • Code 05: Admitted to 1st year of B.Sc Degree with PCB combination
  • Code 06: Graduates (B.Sc Exams with PCB combination)
  • Code 07: Completed a course from any other board (another country) equivalent to Indian Class 12 (10+2)

Documents Required for Filling NEET 2024 Application Form

Candidates should ensure the availability of the scanned copied below mentioned documents before filling out the NEET 2024 application form:

NEET 2024 Application Process: How To Apply?

The step-wise process to apply for the NEET 2024 exam is given below:

  • Step 1 – Visit the official website of NEET at neet.nta.nic.in
  • Step 2 – Click on the “New Registration” tab in the new window.
  • Step 3 – Read the instructions carefully.
  • Step 4 – Accept the terms and conditions by selecting the checkbox.
  • Step 5 – Click on the Proceed option.
  • Step 6 – Fill out the registration form by providing all essential details.
  • Step 7 –Click on the submit button to complete the online registration.
  • Step 8 – Note down the application number.
  • Step 9 –Click on ‘click here to login’
  • Step 10– Log in using your application number and password.
  • Step 11– Fill in the asked details carefully.
  • Step 12– Upload scanned copies of required documents and photos.
  • Step 13– Select the desired mode of payment to pay the application fees.
  • Step 14– Save and print the filled NEET application form.

NEET Exam Pattern

The NEET exam pattern 2024 comprises 2 sections in each of the four subjects – Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physics. The exam carries a total of 720 marks. The remaining details are as follows:

  • NEET exam is going to be an offline test and will be held in the pen and paper mode
  • The candidates have to choose the correct option from the available options
  • The NEET 2024 exam will be held in English, Hindi and 13 other regional languages
  • As per the exam pattern, there will be 200 questions from three subjects, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
  • There will be 50 questions from Physics and Chemistry and 100 questions from Biology
  • All the questions in the NEET exam, will be multiple choice and numerical based
  • 4 marks will be allotted for every correct answer
  • For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted by the agency

NEET Result 2024

NEET 2024 result will be available in the PDF format on the NTA’s official website. The candidates have to download the result and score card using the registration number and password. Additionally, it will comprise of the candidate’s name, subject code, section wise marks scored along with total marks and NEET AIR (All India Rank). Candidates who secure a high AIR in the NEET exam 2024 will be considered for counselling round.
